The Chamber of Crafts of the Stuttgart area, as a point of single contact, provides advice to craftsmen willing to run a trade in the Stuttgart area. All necessary steps of the business creation are taken over by the Chamber.

It is not easy to fulfill all the necessary formalities for the creation of a business, especially when these formalities are completely unknown. It is therefore particularly difficult to set up a business in a foreign country. The Chamber of Crafts of Stuttgart is what the European services directive calls a „point of single contact“: it helps everyone willing to establish a craft trade in the Stuttgart area. Everyone, whether they originate from the Federal Republic of Germany or from another state within the European Union, or from Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.

The Chamber of Crafts of the Stuttgart area acts as an intermediate between the entrepreneur and the public authorities. As a competent coordinator, the chamber cares for a quick, in due time and unbureaucratic procedure finalisation. Free of charge, by the way. However, fees can be due to certain authorities which we have to contact (for example, fees for the registration of a business).

What is the Point of Single Contact Exactly Providing?

As a point of single contact, the Chamber provides following services for entrepreneurs: All administrative formalities concerning the creation and practice of a craft activity, like for example registering/modifying/cancelling at the Chamber of Crafts, registering, changing or cancelling of a trade, making the necessary notifications for transboundary services. Still, there is a constraint: as a point of single contact, we only offer support for business activity purposes. The Chamber of Crafts does not process formalities ranging over personal fields, like renewing personal IDs or applying for a driver’s license.

As a point of single contact, the Chamber of Crafts of the Stuttgart area provides support from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can reach us over the Internet at any time.
